Does This Bus Stop At...Anywhere?

Following two serious posts, it's time for a fun item.

The shambles run by the 'one-eyed Scottish idiot' has triumphed once again. The Isles of Scilly have received a government (i.e. your money) grant of £51,000 to fund free bus passes for all over-60's. That's almost a third of the residents.

Scilly benefits from a formula used to determine how much extra each local authority receives to cover the cost of making bus passes valid across England. They get a bonus but some councils find that their grant doesn't cover the cost of free travel.

Since last April, pass holders have been able to travel free on all scheduled buses in England, not just in their own council areas. The Government allocated £212 million to reimburse councils, which pay the bus companies for each free trip.

With only 10 miles of road across all of the islands, there is a problem here...

...Scilly doesn't have any buses.

Why isnt this surprising? I have just been out with a meal with my lovely wife and got talking to another couple. They own their own business and are not short of a bob or two. However, because they are over the age of 60 (but still very young in their outlook), they suddenly received out of the blue a cheque for £250 to help towards their heating bills. They live in a house worth squillions and didnt ask for this handout. That my friends, sums up the civil service.

Absolutely priceless!
(no pun intended)

If only Gordoom and his legions of money wasters would take a leave out of their 'what-YOU-must-do-to-put-this-country-back-on-its-feet' book of economics. The very same weighty tome that they are constantly ramming down OUR throats. Incidents like these, as small as this one is, are the very reason why we have no confidence in or respect for, our Government.

I wonder what their real agenda really is?

It's certainly not the well being of this country.

They could buy a couple of bendy buses when Boris gets rid of them.
Only a small percentage of them ever caught fire...

Lady Thatcher
